Hi,

We need the crash information to see which program was involved in the crash.

One way is to use this little utility - highlight the crash in the top pane and then copy
the lower pane and paste it into a message here.

AppCrashView - Free - a small utility for Windows Vista and Windows 7 that displays
the details of all application crashes occurred in your system. The crashes information
is extracted from the .wer files created by the Windows Error Reporting (WER) component
of the operating system every time that a crash is occurred. AppCrashView also allows
you to easily save the crashes list to text/csv/html/xml file.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html

--------------------------------------------------------

This is not the exact error however many of the methods also will apply to your crash.

Msvcrt.dll Not Found Error Resolution

Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.

please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:

http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/LocalDumps.reg

and make a double click on the file to import it.

When an application crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the dump (zip it first) to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see the cause.

Thank you, SpiritX!
The crashed applications are two Chinese non-unicode softwares.
They can work fine on my laptop with Win7, but not the desktop.
However, not long ago, they worked correctly on my desktop too.

here's the scr shot. Thank you very much!

So what I can do now?

that's the question.

Please start the command prompt (cmd.exe) with admin rights [1] and run sfc [2]:

sfc.exe /scannow

Is it able to find and repair broken files?

best regards
André

Hi,

Check with the developers of MDA.exe and KUGOO.exe since both have the same error and
you have the latest version of MSVCRT.DLL at this time. This is particularly important since
those programs are Chinese and I have no knowledge of it. Possibly those programs have
issues with Windows 7.

Is MDA.exe part of Magic Download Accelerator? If so there are malware and other possible
hijack and pirating issues associated with it.

Some versions of KUGOO.exe have been reported to be malware though there are legitimate
versions however not a lot of information about those.

Run SFC /scannow

How to Repair Windows 7 System Files with System File Checker
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

That article also has information on how to read the log file by creating the smaller sfcdetails.txt.

You can post any errors from the sfcdetails.txt into a message here. There will be repeated sections
so please only post one example of each section with errors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another thing to check is your antivirus/antispyware/security programs which can aggravate such
issues at times.

Hope this this helps.

I have done a sfc, no issue found by the command. The problem still goes on. Thank you Andre!

MDA is a SMS/MMS sender published by China Mobile Communication Corporation.

Kugoo is downloaded in several years ago on the publisher official website.

So I think both of them are safe.

BTW, they can run correctly on my laptop with the same OS and similar software environment.

May be it's about some app conflict?

Thank you! SpiritX

Hi,

Be sure to check with those programs developers support and any forums or user groups
as there may be known issues such as conflicts with other programs or drivers.

Since the other machine runs them without issue there has to be some differences that are
creating the issue.

Check antivirus/antispyware/security programs, are there any differences on the machines?

Check for BIOS, low level chipset and other major drivers  - update all of thoses. Check for
startup programs differences using a clean boot.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on machine? Include any you have EVER
had on this machine including those you uninstalled (they leave remnants behind which can cause
strange issues).

This is a fairly completer troubleshooter and should help with those issues.

===========================================

Vista and Windows 7 love updated drivers so here is how to update the major ones.

This is my generic how to for proper driver updates : (BIOS, low level chipset drivers, and
major device drivers.
)

This utility makes it easy to see which versions are loaded :

DriverView - Free - utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

For Drivers check System Maker as fallbacks and Device Maker's which are the most current.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - write down the make and complete model
of your video adapter - double click - Driver's tab - write down the version info. Now click UPdate
Driver (this may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers) - then Right Click -
Uninstall - REBOOT this will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat that for Network - Network Card (NIC), Wifi, Sound, Mouse and Keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and any other major device drivers you have.

Now go to System Maker's site (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (as rollback) and then Device
Maker's site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI as examples) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates at System Maker's site while there.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - Right Click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in Device Manager - Drivers tab to be sure the version you are installing actually
shows up. This is because some drivers rollback before the latest is installed (sound drivers
particularly do this) so install a driver - reboot - check to be sure it is installed and repeat as
needed.

Repeat at Device Makers - BTW at Device Makers DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - check
manually by model.

Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

How to Install a Device Driver in Vista Device Manager
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html

If you update drivers manually then it is a good idea to disable Driver Installations in Windows
Updates, this leaves Windows Updates ON however it will not install drivers which will usually be
older and cause issues. If Updates suggests a new driver then HIDE it (Right Click on it) and then
go look for new ones manually if you wish.

Refer to these threads for many more excellent tips however be sure to check your antivirus
programs, update major drivers and BIOS, and also troubleshoot with the cleanboot method
first.
