App not showing in "Notification from apps and other senders"

I accidentally click "turn off all notifications for *" in notification center, e.g. Stretchly, and now it's not reversible.

I can't find that app in notification settings. Is it possible to modify registry to get it back? Or any other workarounds?

Edit: this is probably because app is portable.

Edit2: I solved it by editing %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Notifications\wpndatabase.db with SQLite editor.

Hi AmberMusician27, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Is it happening just on that app? If so, I installed the app and selected "Turn off all notifications for.." when the notification popped up, I was able to check that app in System > Notifications and enable it back there. Are you unable to find it there?

Yes, only that app can not be found, after and before the accident. I don't know if it has something to do with the installation method. I install it via Scoop.

I am able to reproduce this bug in Windows Sandbox.

I guess Windows can not deal with portable apps well. it can not recognize or show portable apps in settings. Though, the user can hide the app notifications permanently via notification center (panel), but not be able to reverse this action back in settings.

Hi Amber,

I see. Can you try to download the installer and then reinstall it to see if that will fix the problem?

Try enabling it in the Registry.

Go to this path
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Notifications\Settings\net.hovancik.stretchly

Set the DWORD named "Enabled" to 1

I have not tried your method. But I just solved it by editing %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Notifications\wpndatabase.db with SQLite editor. Though it still does not have an entry in notification settings.

Thank you for your effort.
