AMD Radeon Drivers doesn’t work with the latest version of Windows 10

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop.  The last build that worked correctly was 1803.  All builds after that have had bad AMD Radeon video drivers.  Driver updates from AMD do not solve the problem.  Windows works in Safe Mode but studders in normal boot on all apps and programs.  To fix I have had to disable the display driver in control panel.  Anyone else have this issue?

I understand that you are facing issues with AMD driver on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

 

As you have mentioned that after build 1803, the AMD drivers are not working properly on the computer, it could be possible that the AMD drivers are not completely compatible with latest version of Windows 10.

 

Let us try removing the AMD drivers completely and then try reinstalling it. To remove the driver, download the AMD Cleanup Utility and run it.

 

Once the drivers is completely uninstalled, I suggest you download the drivers by visiting https://www.amd.com/en/support and click on Download now for Auto-Detect and Install Radeon Graphics Drivers for Windows.

 

If you face issues in installing the drivers, you may want to download try installing the drivers in compatibility mode and see if that helps. Refer the article on Make older apps or programs compatible with Windows 10.

Doing a search for that model brings up Intel HD graphics, what is the exact model of your 3000 series laptop.?

Could be a region thing of course but UK searches seem to bring up Intel graphics.

I did remove the old driver and installed the latest AMD drivers from their support site.  Same issue with stuttering.  I did not try installing the driver in compatibility mode and probably will just stick with disabling the driver in contol panel which seems to solve the problem with no noticeable negative effects on my programs.

Thanks for you suggestions but there ought to be a better soluction for the Win 10 AMD driver issue.

No, not yet.  Their latest build in late March 2020 did not resolve the issue.  I didn't see anything at AMD that indicated they were aware of any problem with their AMD Radeon driver and new Win10 builds.

Thank you for replying.

As neilpzz requested, we would like to know the complete model number of the laptop that you are using.

As suggested earlier, you may want to try installing the drivers in compatibility mode to see if that works.

Meanwhile, if you have received a Software disk along with your laptop, you may want to try installing the drivers from the disk and see if that helps.

Dell Inspiron 3541 (PO) with Windows 7 preinstalled.  Updated to Win 10 1909.

AMD A6-6310

4GB DDR Ram

ATI AMD Radeon R4 Graphics

SanDisk 120GB SSD

This is backup laptop and since it is working with the graphics driver disabled, I am not inclined to reinstall the drivers again at this time.

I assume the driver package from the Dell website doesn't help either as it's 2015.

I ran Dell full diagnostics and driver update.  Didn't resolve the issue.

Yes! I tried everything to fix the issue to no avail. Thought maybe monitor was out of date. So I went out and bought a new monitor.  Same issue.. I finally disabled the AMD driver, and I'm just using the basic windows driver. Works good now.  Wish they would fix this issue.
