Hi James,

This issue likely occurs if the program is currently in use. We'd like to know what happens when you try to uninstall Amazon Assistant. Since you've mentioned that uninstalling through Windows Settings is not working, let's try uninstalling it through Control Panel. To do so, kindly perform these steps:

  1. Log on as an administrator on your computer.
  2. Right-click the Windows key, then select Control Panel.
  3. Click Uninstall a program.
  4. Look for Amazon Assistant, click it and then select Uninstall.
  5. In the search bar, type services, then press Enter.
  6. Check if Amazon Assistant is still there. If so, right-click on it then select Properties. Change Startup type from Automatic to Disabled.
  7. Go to Command Prompt, type sc delete Amazon Assistant Service and then press Enter.
  8. If you have an Amazon Assistant plug-in installed in your browser, kindly disable it. Afterwards, reset your web browser.
  9. Restart your computer.

Please post back with the result for further assistance.
