GigaByte Aorus B550M has no internet

I just restarted a computer that was working fine a year ago.

It booted, but Win10 would not load. I reinstalled Win10, but now it does not see the internet.

I updated the BIOS (Gigabyte Aorus B550M AX V2 v1.3), extracted and installed the LAN and BT drivers from the GigaByte site, but it still does not see my internet network.

The Device Manager says the Generic BT adapter was stopped by Windows (Error code 43).

The Network Adapters show Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE and various WAN miniport adapters.

Other Devices shows (!) Network Controller - No controller found.

Help?

Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Erro code 43 means that the device has a hardware problem, or the driver software is failing.

Please click Start > Type system information and hit enter > Take a photo with your smartphone and post it back.

I also installed the GigaByte Control Center, but it did not help. It only showed options for adjusting the Aorus lighting, fans, and performance.

The GigaByte BIOS screen also did not have any options to enable/disable WiFi.

I'd like to mention again that this machine was working completely fine a year ago, but something went wrong when I powered it up again. It has been indoors, in a clean room, with no disturbances.

I tried to repair Windows by copying MS Media Creator to a USB and then to my desktop, but Media Creator said it could not download the necessary files.

Thanks,

ron

Thanks for sharing the screenshots.

Depending on the screenshots, your BIOS version is not up to date which is FF. Please update it to FGd:

Then, download the latest chipset driver:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550-AORUS...

After that, download the LAN driver:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550-AORUS...

Make sure LAN is not disabled in BIOS. Go to Settings in BIOS.

GigaByte Control Center does not contain a LAN driver:

Please feel free to ask if you need further assistance.

Fixed it!

There were two problems.

First, the Network Stack was Disabled in the BIOS. I didn't see this setting in the BIOS setup earlier. I switched it to Enabled.

Second, I previously downloaded the AMD and Realtek drivers. I went back to the User Manual for MB, and saw that I needed the Intel LAN drivers. I installed those, and everything is up and running again.

Thanks again for taking the time to help.

Best regards,

ron
