Aftermath of latest windows update

After latest windows update, realtek soundcard driver has disappeared. System restore to pre-update position also not happening. While doing restore, it is going on even for 10 hours without getting completed. No solution is working
Hello! I am an Independent Advisor, I would love to help you out!

The first thing I would recommend is to try to rollback the windows update and see if that is really what is causing the problem. To do that you can:

Start > Settings and click on Update & Security.

Click the Recovery link on the left and then click on Get started under 'Go back to the previous version of Windows 10.'

Im also experiencing issues with sound after september 10/11 update, im replying here instead of creating new thread because it is also related to realtek soundcard driver.

I have deleted all windows updates which have been installed on september 11 that i was able to deleted and confirmed that these update were the cause of the problem.

The issue that i have is that when "Disable all sound effect" is not checkmarked im experiencing some sound issues, in particular 3D sound is not working properly, even if none of the individual effect are enabled the issue is still present. Disabling all sound effect fixes these issue but then i cannot use any sound effect options for my need.

If that option is not available then you can try to manually uninstall the cumulative update by following these instructions:

Some patches cannot be uninstalled because it displays a message that it is needed for the system.

I'm having trouble removing KB4511555 and KB4512508. I managed to remove the remaining amendments from September, but the problem with the sound has not disappeared.

I went through the problem installing the whole system from scratch, while blocking problematic updates from September. Their installation causes sound problems on Relatek cards. Micorosft - time to wake up! You're releasing flawed updates that do more harm than good! It's time to review your patch policy and restore users' ability to install selected patches, as was the case in 7.

you mean Realtek, not Relatek, Mitchris.

I'm not experiencing any problems with the recent Sept. 2019 updates on a friend's custom built PC with an asus motherboard running Win10 v1903 pro, which has an onboard Realtek ALC887 audio device.  audio driver for the realtek on asus is v6.0.8773.1

maybe update your realtek audio driver on your computer if you are using an older version or a version that's older than what I have

The typo's sneaked in. I have a problem with the latest available version of drivers from the manufacturer - Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs R2.82.

Earth to Microsoft! Will the problem be solved or swept under the carpet? The option to stop the update is slowly coming to an end and the system will soon be forced to download it again.
