After an update I lost my news feed.

After a windows update I lost my news feed.  I don't have any tiles just a blank start page in edge.  Edge is working but it doesn't  display my news feed.  I have my settings on top site and suggested contents.  I tried all the solutions I have found and I am still lost.  When I grew up we used a pencil and paper.  Now we have these machines and I am struggling to keep it going.  I have 64 bit computer so the remooptimizer wouldn't download.  I would greatly appreciate any help.  Chester

Hi,

I've also noticed this problem a few days ago.. Also, the browser keeps logging off every time I restart it and windows 10 is more unstable all around.... This has also started after some updates a while back..

I have no idea what update is the culprit and what to do, so any and all help is greatly appreciated

I can't tell you everything.  I tried treat me like I don't know and start at the beginning.  I am quite elderly so my memory is not so great. I will write down or print your instructions.  All I know is that my start page is blank.  After going to the upper right and the three dots down to setting and set on top sites and content.  I tried to download remooptimizer and that failed.  I have no customize location and no tiles.  I am lost and in over my head by a long ways Chester    Thanks

I tried troubleshooter app.  I came back a cache may be damaged not fixed.  What should I do next.  Chester Tanks everyone for the help.  If I don"t push all the thanks buttons remember I am thankful

I also tried to download troubleshooter on edge and it won't download.  I checked my downloads and found that Microsoft downloaded a security update on the 21 Dec and that is when my troubles stared.   I also  tried to download a microsoft windows repair tool and it won't download.  Something has happened to my ability to download.  Now I amm frustrated.

Scan for damaged system files and run System file check. Follow the steps below to run SFC.

  1. Right click the Start icon.
  2. Select Command Prompt (Admin)
  3. In the Command Prompt Window, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.

If the above steps won't work, we suggest you to perform clean boot. Check the article below the follow the steps given.

I tried everything Reymichael Ros put in his message.  I did a clean boot and it didn't work.  I still couldn't download anything.  I was able to get a hold of Microsoft Support again and explained that the security updates on  12-21  I convinced them that it was the updates that had corrupted my windows 10.   The tech tried several things an it still wouldn't work He then decided that it needed a new windows 10 download.  After a bit he was able to make enough changes that he was able to download windows 10.   I really appreciate everyones help in my dilemna.  I can't say enough thank yous .  Chester
