ADMIN PASSWORD KEEPS SAYING "INCORRECT"

Hello, I just recently updated my PC.

After the installation was completed, while booting it keeps crashing before getting to desktop with the error message "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED"

For the first time ever, I decided to try using "safe mode" as I learnt that I could apply some fixes to the crash from there. I hit the "F8" key as soon as the logo shows up and it proceeds to "Automatic startUp Repair".

The page that shows up next asks to choose an account to log in to. I see just one account - MY Microsoft account with MY address and when ask to provide password, I believe it requires my Microsoft account password.

But it keeps telling me "incorrect" no matter how many times I tried it. I have changed my Microsoft password because of this and still the same.

Is the password requested meant to be different from my Microsoft password cause I've tried other passwords too and still getting same response.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If oyu log into Windows with a Microsoft account it is a common problem that the Microsoft account password is not accepted in the recovery environment options.

Are you able to get into Windows normally?

If you can, open the Settings App, then go to Accounts - Sign In Options, and there, you should be able to switch to a local account, and do not apply a password, you should then be able to access Safe Mode... etc. from the recovery environment.
