Activation of DSP licence on PC that already has Windows 10 Home digital licence

Hello,

I need help to remove Windows 10 Home digital licence from my laptop to install Windows 11 Pro DSP licence that we bought for this machine.

I've tryed to remove licence with "slmgr.vbs /upk" but I get error 0xC004F069 on a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run "slui.exe 0xC004F069" to display the error text.

Pls help to solve this problem, without wasting money on new licence key :)

Lp,

Miroslav

Hi Miroslav

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

1
Was Windows 10 pre-installed on that laptop?

If it was, that licence is stored on the motherboard and cannot be removed from the laptop.

2
What method are you using to install Windows 11 Pro, are you clean installing from a bootable USB, or are you just upgrading the laptop form 10 to 11?

Hi Dave,

First things first tnx for replay on my question.

Well, Windows 10 Home was pre-installed on this laptop.

I tryed clean installation from bootable usb with Windows 11 that I got on official MS site and created with Windows Media creation tool. Is there any way that I can upgrade to Win 11 Pro with new key without buying new licence on MS store?

Lp,

Miroslav

If you have installedWindows11Pro from a bootable USB, are you not able to use that licence key to activate Windows 11 Pro, what error are you seeing, please provide a screenshot.

2
Where did you purchase that Windows 11 Pro licence, please provide a link to the retailers website.

Hi Miroslav

1
What version of Windows is currently installed on your PC, is that Windows 11 Hoe or Pro?

2
If you enter your product key into the activation page in the Settings App, what error do you see?

Hi MiroslavD

Try this fix:

Important - disconnect totally from the Internet

Open the Settings App (Gear icon on your Starr Menu)

Go to Update and Security - Activation

Click Change Product key

Enter this generic product key: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

When prompted, click 'Activate Product'

If the above does not work first time, restart your PC and try again.

Note the generic key will cause the Home edition to upgrade to the Pro edition, then you can use your product key to activate Windows Pro after you restart (not shut down) your PC
