Account Setting are out of date - Microsoft email

I continue to see the message "Your account settings are out-of-date in Mail or Calendar for Windows 10" .  I have followed all the steps recommended, but nothing changes.  If I click on the "Fix" button it consistently comes back with Error Code 0x8019019a.  I also see that my inbox in Outlook or Microsoft Mail (not sure which it is really called as I don't use this as my main email service) contains different messages than if I access my account through yahoo as I usually do.  I am not getting these messages in my regular email account and if I send an email from here, it does not show up in my sent email file via yahoo.

I have a very old email account @bellsouth.net - don't know if that makes any difference, but I could really use some help fixing this "account settings are out-of-date" error message!!

Thanks so much for anything you can suggest to help!

Terri

I'm having the same problem with getting access to my bellsouth account and I'm also getting the same messages. It's carried over to my cell phone where I have a email icon for access to my bellsouth account. I'm constantly getting notifications on my cell phone that there was trouble signing in. I want to uninstall that icon just to stop the notifications but I'm afraid to mess things up further so I have left it. I contacted AT&T and they said they couldn't help me. Oh they "tried" by having me do certain things but it didn't work. The crappy thing about this is that this happened to me before, several months ago and I had to PAY AT&T to access my computer and FIX it. But here we are again and it's doing the same thing. I will NOT pay them again to "fix" it. Is there something I can do to fix this problem?

This AT&T Web page describes how to generate a "secure mail key" to use as a new password in your mail app.  It worked for me, at least with Windows Mail app on Windows 10.

I think I have a solution. I believe the sync process has problems with some attachments.

Make sure you have access to the problem account directly from the web.

1. Remove the problem account from Windows email.

2. Add the account back and sync. It will fail at some point.

3. Scroll down to the last message that transferred.

   Make note of it so you can relocate it.

4. Login to the problem account from a browser.

5. Locate the same email.

6. Delete the email immediately following it. I believe it will have an attachment.

Return to Windows and repeat 1 thru 6 until all the mail syncs.

JP, are you replying to the right question?  My post had to do with "password issues", rather than attachment-related sync problems.

Sorry, did I get the wrong topic.

 I originally thought that the "account out of date" problem was a password issue but it also is the warning when windows 10 email can't sync with yahoo or even gmail. Fixing the sync problem also corrected this error.

NO SOLUTION WORKS! DO YOU HEAR US MICROSOFT!?!?!?!!

I have an Outlook.com email account and it STILL comes back EVERY DAY. I have tried several of the so called fixes and nothing. Some of the fixes direct you to settings that dont even exist in my Windows 10 Mail app.

This is beyond frustrating!!!!

I've been having this issue for months with my hotmail account using the Mail app.  Every couple of days it says there is a problem with my account.  I tried following:

  1. Choose Settings > Manage Accounts.

  2. Choose the account that's out-of-date to display the account settings dialog.

  3. Choose Change mailbox sync settings > Advanced mailbox settings. You may have to scroll down in the dialog to see Advanced mailbox settings.

  4. Check the boxes for Require SSL for incoming email and Require SSL for outgoing email and then choose Done > Save.

There isn't an Advanced mailbox settings after I click Change mailbox sync settings.  This window doesn't show anything if I try to 'scroll down'.

I see the following:

Hotmail sync settings

Download new content

dropdown box to select the following (as items arrive, every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes, hourly, manually) - Currently set to "as items arrive"

Checkbox for "Always download full message and Internet images"

Download email from

dropdown box to select the following (any time, the last 3 days, the last 7 days, the last 2 weeks, the last month, the last 3 months) - Currently set to "any time".

Sync options:

Email = on

Calendar = on

contact = on

I've deleted the account and added it back in with the same results.  It has previously worked for years.

Please fix!
