The exception unknown software exception (0x0020001) occurred in the application at location 0x0000000075AC9542," suggests there's a problem with a specific Acer software component that's interfering or crashing when you play FiveM, a popular modification for Grand Theft Auto V.

This AcerRegistrationBackGroundTask.exe seems to be part of the Acer registration or update software that typically comes pre-installed on Acer computers. The error might be triggered by compatibility issues, software conflicts, or outdated components. Here’s how you can address the issue:

1. Update Acer Software and Drivers:

   • Make sure all Acer software and drivers are up to date. Acer provides an "Acer Care Center" software that can help you check for system updates.

2. Disable Acer Registration Background Task:

   • If updating doesn’t resolve the issue, you might want to disable the AcerRegistrationBackGroundTask.exe from running at startup, as it’s not critical for system operation.

   • Corrupted system files may cause various issues. Open Command Prompt as administrator and run the command  sfc /scannow  to scan and repair system files.

5. Reinstall FiveM:

   • If the issue is specifically occurring with FiveM, consider reinstalling it. Uninstall FiveM, ensure that any related folders are deleted, and reinstall it from the official source.

6. Contact Acer Support:

   • If the problem persists, it might be a good idea to contact Acer customer support for further assistance, especially if the error seems to be related to Acer’s software.

While disabling or removing Acer software components might solve the immediate issue, it's always a good idea to ensure that the action you take doesn't affect your system's stability or your data.

It happened to me as well, and I tried a lot of things, but nothing worked. Then, I figured out that you can repair the app itself if it's not working. You just need to search the app itself, go to the app settings, and either repair or reset it. This process worked for me.
