I have had verizon internet security since 2008. 4 days ago it stopped working. It now comes with mcafee. when I tried to reinstall it, it downloads and gets about 80 percent into the mcafee installation I get the error " A problem caused the program
to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." After 3 days and 16 hours of tech support from verizon (including thier mcafee liason) It still wouldn't work. They told me to call dell. Well needless to
say my computer is no longer under warranty and I'm not trying to pay 50 bucks to have dell troubleshoot. I had them remove and tried downloading the mcafee I get with MSN same error. I can't even remove it from add remove programs because I get the same
error. I have windows vista and my SP2 updated in December.
b) If that does not help, put the computer in clean boot and check.
In Clean Boot, windows use a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that software conflict is eliminated. To put the computer in clean boot state follow the steps in the article
