A new copy of Windows 10

C an I get another Windows 10 installation copy as my laptop HD has completely failed and cannot produce a recovery

As soon as the motherboard remains the same, you do not need to buy another copy.

Just skip entering the key when prompted and install the same edition as was before.

You can always get fresh installation media using the Media Creation Tool

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 you will need a working computer.

If you don't have access to another computer, yourself or a friend/colleague then try the Laptop manufacturer. (if they supplied the device with Windows 10)
