4TB hard disk showing 15TB

I bought a 4TB hard disk 2.5" external storage, but when I plug in crystal disk show that is pending sector and show caution. Therefore I format the whole hard disk to try to fix it, when I go in disk management, it show 3.7TB is allocate, but there is 12TB unallocated. I end up erase all partition and format it.

Afterward I end up get 15TB of unallocated space, from there I was able to do any formatting and return to the original 3.7TB space, anyone has any idea what happened? and how can I fix it. Is under GPT originally, but I try switch to MBR and right now it disappear whenever I start disk management......

Thank you in advance

Hello, my name is Anis. I'll be glad to help you today.

It could be a temporary glitch.
Please check if the disk is visible in diskpart tool.

Please open Command Prompt.
type diskpart press Enter
If there is a prompt, click Yes.

Once in diskpart, type list disk press Enter.

Let me know if you can see the hard drive.

Are you able to allocate the entire 15TB from Disk Manager?
Is it showing 15TB at File Explorer as well?

I can't I create a 2TB partition before, and when I try to delete or format that partition, I hear a click sound from the disk, and become unable to access, unless I reconnect it

Please try to format the disk using Diskpart.

Open Diskpart as mentioned above.
Enter the following commands One by One.

list disk
select disk (disk number). For example, if the 15TB disk is number 2: select disk 2
clean
create partition primary
format fs=ntfs
assign

It sounds like there is some issue with the hard drive.

Could you please change the partition table to GPT and check if the issue persists?
