-Last time I accessed to camera is 22/02/2021 and it works fine. I use Zoom Meetings and open camera until end meeting.

-Last time my laptop accessed to camera is 24/02/2021. I use Google Meet on chrome and it ask to open camera but I don't open camera.

-On 25/02/2021 and 26/02/2021 I use Google Meet on chrome and it doesn't ask to open camera.

-Yesterday (1/3/2021), I use Zoom Meetings but my camera is missing. I try many ways to fix it for 6 hours, but I didn't work.

Camera is missing from Device Manager.

I found camera is in hidden devices, but it is transparent. I uninstall camera then it begone for good. (I think the hidden+transparent devices is the devices that laptop known and not active now. When it active again it will no longer hidden+transparent.)

I don't know why my camera is missing and I don't know how to take it back.

My laptop is ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506IU-HN174T

Methods I tried and doesn't work.

Hi Adam,

I'm Paul, an Independent Advisor. I hope I can help you with your concern.

Use System Restore to restore your Windows to the point before the issue persists.
Open Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection > System Restore then follow screen instructions.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Thanks for help. But it doesn't work.

So problem was happened on 25/02/2021, but System Restore has only 26/02/2021 and 28/02/2021 that are after the problem was happened.

So I try "Show more restore points" then it shows 22/02/2021. So I try and it make Blue Screen problem.

Sorry if it didn't solve the problem.

I can't find the camera driver from the Asus support website. The last option I can think of is doing a PC Reset.

Open PC Settings > Update & Recovery > Recovery >> click Get Started under the “Reset this PC”.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Thanks, "Reset this PC" that is the only way that I have not done yet. Because I'm lazy to install programs and sign in many accounts again. But, I tried many ways and it doesn't work. Now, it's time to try the last way.

Sorry if it didn't solve the problem.

If you still have the "ASUS recovery partition", you can restore the system to Factory defaults or the point you purchased it.

1. Power on your computer, press F9 key immediately when Asus logo shows up.

2. Select “Windows Setup[EMS Enabled]”, language and click Next.

3. Click Next when the ASUS Preload Wizard screen appears. Then, select “Recover Windows to first partition only”.

*note: It will remove all the files on the First partition.

4. Then, follow the steps in the wizard.

I think it might be a hardware problem, I just used it for 1 month. So, I will try to claim warranty.

But for now, I will buy a cheap USB webcam to use first.

Thanks for your kind help. :D
