0x800704cf on Windows 10 PC

Hi,

I couldn't find relevant threads so creating this one. I am the latest victim of 0x800704cf

Typically, I was automatically logged in to my OneDrive, OneNote, Windows Store, Microsoft To-Do apps when I start my Windows 10 PC but not anymore. I don't get logged in automatically and when I go in these respective apps and try to login, I get the below error.

Below is a list of all possible solutions that I have already tried but nothing seems to work,

1. Uncheck the ‘Client form Microsoft Networks’ in connection properties
2. Reset TCP/IP through commands on running cmd as an administrator
3. Uninstall all Network Adapters, including hidden ones and check again for hardware changes
4. Update registries like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters with the value 1
5. Run every troubleshooter possible from Windows Updates to Internet Access, all of them ended nowhere (below is a screenshot)

6. Restore Windows 10 to a previous date (when I didn't have this issue)
7. Do a fresh Windows 10 install (I lost all the installed softwares/apps)

I have now run out of solutions. Any other solution from anyone here will be helpful.

Thanks,
Shoaib

Hello Shoaib,

I had this issue for quite a while and ignored it.. long story short I found a solution to my problem and may be to yours! What I ended up doing was signing out of my account onto a local account on my computer my going to Settings>Accounts>Your Info> from there I chose sign in with local account instead. after doing that I signed out and back in onto the local account.(didn't set a password for local since I was changing it right away) After I signed back into the local account I went back to the same spot as mentioned above and chose instead of local account, sign in with Microsoft account. and signed in with my information like you would anywhere else with Microsoft. after signing in I clicked verify(right below after signing in on Microsoft account). sent a txt to my phone put in the code and verified. and bam! fixed. I went back to the Microsoft store or xbox app.(was having problems signing into both) and signed right in! Problem fixed. After spending over 24 hours on the phone with Microsoft and them trying to coax me into spending $100 to fix this simple mistake. for future reference if you ever have issues do not call.. choose the chat over phone calls because most of that 24 hours to figure out this problem was from being transferred MULTIPLE times. I am thankful for the person that helped me resolve this issue. HOWEVER I am very disappointed with the employees at Microsoft considering the fact that I was just pushed off to someone else so I was no longer "their" problem. anyways I hope this fixes your issues!
