0x800423F4 when creating system restore point.

On April 24, 2024, Windows update installed KB5037724 on my system running Windows 10 22H2, Bld 19045.4291. Since then, when manually creating a restore point I get non-transient error 0x800423F4. It is a solid error. It happens every time. I tried to uninstall the update, but the update system will not allow me to do that. When I search for the update during the uninstall process, the update is not found even though it is in the update history.

Creating restore points is a very important part of the process for keeping my system working properly.

I did a search in this community on the error, but can only find old, closed, or outdated entries.

Thank you,

Answer

Thank Ramesh. I resolved the problem with creating a system restore point by setting VSS to automatic start. (services.msc)
