Using a seperate usb mic was also my solution as well, with my bluetooth as stereo audio... I entertained the idea of using a second bluetooth device as the mic only and just wearing both devices, but thats kinda rediculous!!

do they make a bluetooth device that has two bluetooth antenna so headphones and mic are there own dedicated devices in windows?

my ultimate sokution unfortunately was to go with a headset that has its own dedicated dongle, but that still doesnt address the shortcoming of window’s handling of bluetooth!

Try some BT5.0 dongle which is in Realtek chip / you will need to install Realtek driver (because it is not working on default Windows drivers).. and on Realtek driver (in my case with Mpow BH456A Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter) all is working for me (so I'm able to use together mic and get sound - and same headsets didn't work on BT4.1 with default BT Windows drivers).
Teams and Zoom are working fine. Mice on headset BT4.1 also is working fine in that setup.

Amazing that so many people have this problem and microsoft doesn't even acknowledge it. I've resorted to having Teams call my mobile phone and just connect my Bluetooth there.

Hey. I am facing the same problem and with the same headphones. Did anything work out for you? I had contacted JBL support but they said there was no problem in the headphones itself. Are you still facing the problem or did you find a workaround for it? If so, please share

Regards

I Found a decent fix for it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdEEigf3_3M , Clicked on no Bluetooth sound and it did some stuff.

I'm pretty sure it changes some settings around on the headphones and sadly makes the audio quality trash, but you now can have a mic i guess. You can change the output device to "_____ Stereo" and it goes back to good quality but no mic.

I'm just gonna switch through the 2 when I need, sucks that Microsoft has an obvious problem but hasn't fixed it.

JayAAA,

Thanks very much for this fix.  It worked perfectly for me (not halfway).  I would point out that for me it was unnecessary to disable the other devices.  The key was to not allow exclusive control.

Not that I think this is the right thing but in defense of Microsoft it kind of makes sense that if you take exclusive control of the device for input (or output) that the device might become unavailable for the other purpose.  It's stupid that in one case the consider the speakers and microphone to be separate and in another case they are the same.  A better solution would be for them to default to *not* allowing exclusive access if they are going to treat them as the same device for that purpose.

Anyway, I'm really glad you posted this.  Unfortunately I still see a lot of people with later posts complaining so they haven't seen yours.

TL;DR: I solved the same problem by right clicking the sound icon in the task tray > Spatial Sound (Windows Sonic for Headphones) > Windows Sonic for Headphones

-------

I will admit that I haven't read all 117 responses to this thread at time of writing. However, I found a solution on another forum and noticed this wasn't marked as solved. I had a similar issue with AirPods Pro connecting to a Dell XPS running Win 10 20H2. I noticed it running these applications:

Zoom (Version: 5.4.7 (59784.1220)

Duo web (via Chrome Version 88.0.4324.150 (Official Build) (64-bit))

Teams web (via Chrome Version 88.0.4324.150 (Official Build) (64-bit))

When trying to use the mic and headphones on the bluetooth connected headphones (headset), anytime I selected the mic from my airpods the sound quite working. This was true whether I selected the airpods as headphones or as a headset because both options are available to chrome and zoom.

Ultimately, once I enabled Windows Sonic for Headphones, BOOM - SOUND! Now I can video chat with my peeps, it sounds great to me and others can hear me too.

Right click the sound icon in the task tray > Spatial Sound (Windows Sonic for Headphones) > Windows Sonic for Headphones. This will place the checkmark next to Windows Sonic for Headphones. Zoom, Teams, and Duo all started working after this change.

Hi, I try your fix but...

I confused on the step 3:

I post some of screenshots:

Tha playback Devices: Should I disable the Headphones?

The Recording Devices: Should I Disable the Headset? If I do that I will not have any recording devices

I tried  anyway but still the same issue.

I can playback using Headphones Devices or I can have Headset Mic, but NOT Both at the same time.

I have a Motorola Pulse Escape + Headset.
