Surface Studio April update 2018, mouse keeps disconnecting.

Hi,

Has anyone else experienced the mouse keep disconnecting on their Surface Studio since the April 2018 update?

It's so annoying. If I touch the screen when it happens a few seconds later it comes back.

Does Microsoft not test their premium devices with new updates or something?!

Hi,

We are currently working on a solution that will be provided in a future Windows Update.

Update 6/12/2018

On Surface Studio, you may find that your keyboard/mouse and other Bluetooth devices intermittently stop working.  If you touch the screen on Surface Studio these devices will start working again. A fix has now been published in Windows Update - June 12, 2018—KB4284835 (OS Build 17134.112). Please check for Surface and Windows Updates to ensure your device has the most current firmware and software available. For more information about how to check for available updates, see Update Windows 10.

If you had done the previous workaround to uncheck the option to “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” option on the  “Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter” you can reenable that using the following steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows Start Menu and select “Device Manager”.
  2. Double-click “Bluetooth” to expand that group of devices.
  3. Double-click “Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter” and select the “Power Management” tab.
  4. Check the box next to “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.
  5. Click “OK”.
