Surface Pro 3 warranty replacement - can't register

I had my SP3 swapped out at a MS store due to dust under the screen and was given a refurb. Upon trying to register the new one however, I get a message stating it is an enterprise device and cannot be registered on a personal account. After chatting and calling support, I was told that only MS commercial support can do this and was transferred to them, only to be told that they cannot register it to a personal account, only a business.... Anyone have any experience with this? What happens if whatever company owned this previously decides to report it stolen or something like that, or if I even just need another warranty service since the serial number on my account no longer matches with whats on my device, or if I want to sell it but MS reports it as an enterprise device?

I went into the store and spoke with the tech and store manager there. They initially tried fixing the BSOD but the USB port wouldnt work which they said has been a common issue since the bad firmware went out. After that they replaced my surface with a brand new one and have had no issues.  They didnt understand how I ended up with an enterprise surface but they were very helpful. If they had told me in the first place that they would swap it out I would have gladly driven the 1+ hour trip earlier rather than waiting for support to call me back, which they never did.

Thanks again Barb!
