Surface Pro icon under Devices and Printers

Along with the firmware upgrades not being pushed to my device as stated in other posts of mine. I am still trying to figure out why.  I am using my using the type cover 2 and it seems to be working ok as well.

Through my investigation I looked under Devices and Printers and noticed my Surface icon does not look like a Surface Device as I've seen on other posted pictures before.

My question is if this is normal?  What does others look like?

My Surface 2's icon looks like that.

As far as the type cover, my touch cover required a refresh to make it work.

I'm running the standard Surface 2 RT OS... wonder if maybe they forgot to update the icon on the Surface 2/Pro 2.

I never was. I had said that I used the package to manually update drivers and firmwares.  Checking my system shows it is Windows 8 Pro as well as when I see what upgrades are available it offers Media Center for $9.99.

So I am running Pro not Enterprise.

hmmm wierd... I got the fancy schmancy 'real' icon...

...is this current 8.1 setup a result of using the procedure of an 8.0 RESET / Windows Update / 8.1 Upgrade?

I wish I would've have checked the icon prior to the 8.1 upgrade. I used the RTM upgrade pre-October 18th and since I wasn't ever able to get firmware upgrades before that (as stated in my previous posts). I saw no reason to Reset to 8.0, get all available updates, then get the 8.1 upgrade.
I can try this but do I want to lose my current setup for another disappointment?

Maybe I can do a backup to a USB drive or I can run the 8.1 ISO and do a reinstall/repair type option?

What do you think?

Good point...

Make the ISO. The History tool (aka Windows 7 File Recovery) now works fine, so you can do a quick restore. This way, after a RESET/Updates/Upgrade and FAIL to solve some or all of the issues, you've really only lost a few hrs, instead of a day.

I'm an@l... so I do RESETS to clear up issues that effect work or sanity PLUS in the case of a major OS upgrade, as I've never really gotten 'clean' upgrades on an MS OS.
