I wish I would've have checked the icon prior to the 8.1 upgrade. I used the RTM upgrade pre-October 18th and since I wasn't ever able to get firmware upgrades before that (as stated in my previous posts). I saw no reason to Reset to 8.0, get all
available updates, then get the 8.1 upgrade.
I can try this but do I want to lose my current setup for another disappointment?
Maybe I can do a backup to a USB drive or I can run the 8.1 ISO and do a reinstall/repair type option?
What do you think?
Good point...
Make the ISO. The History tool (aka Windows 7 File Recovery) now works fine, so you can do a quick restore. This way, after a RESET/Updates/Upgrade and FAIL to solve some or all of the issues, you've really only lost a few hrs, instead of a day.
I'm an@l... so I do RESETS to clear up issues that effect work or sanity PLUS in the case of a major OS upgrade, as I've never really gotten 'clean' upgrades on an MS OS.
