Surface Book 3 Audio Issues Immediately

I just received a new surface book 3 earlier today and am having audio issues. The audio coming from the speakers is crackling, sort of like when you're talking to somebody on the phone who has a poor connection. I have disabled audio enhancements, run the troubleshooter, restarted my device, and reinstalled the drivers, but the audio quality is still poor. What else should I try? The microsoft call center told me to ask here.

I am having issues with audio just stopping altogether.  I have the latest updates installed but randomly, audio will no longer be available.  I run the troubleshooter and until I get to the point of playing test sounds and clicking, "I didn't hear anything.", then the sound issues are resolved...until the next time it decides to stop working again.

I had bad audio issues with my new SB3 and returned the laptop.

i was in a chat with tech support - they could not resolve the issue and advised me to have a replacement sent.
Sadly Microsoft’s customer service has been totally lacking and absolutley terrible.

I ended up replacing my SB3. The new one does not have the audio issues.

Was this from any source or just from something specific? My speakers play fine for just about anything. But then when I played MP3 files through Groove Music or even MPG and AVI files in Movies & TV, the audio is distorted through the speakers. However, when using wired and wireless headphones, the audio is fine. When using Windows Media Player, the audio is also fine. And in regards to Movies & TV, MKV, MP4, and streamed videos have no distortion. So I don't know if it's the speakers, the file format, or the software...

No issues on my Surface Pro 4.

I've been having an audio/video sync issues on any platform, online or offline. Disabling Dolby Atmos seems to help:

However there's another issue: whenever my speakers are connected to my laptop through the 3.5mm jack, there is a constant buzzing sounds that won't go away.

Microsoft is supposed to contact me on Friday so we'll see what fix they suggest.

Seb

I’m having issues with my audio as well. The sound is not loud enough and it stops working out of nowhere. I have to restart my computer for it to work again. I have a surface pro 4 and the sound of that one is so much better than the surface book 3. I thought I was upgrading to something better. I’m so disappointed! Can you please help me fix these issues?

I'm having the same issue with my new Surface Book 3, though not as severe. The audio skips slightly every 10-30 seconds, rarely enough to actually interrupt what I'm listening to, but always enough to be noticeable and very annoying. It's the same with both Bluetooth and AUX devices. I've tried running the troubleshooter, disabling audio enhancements, and even reinstalling the generic audio driver. Nothing has worked so far.
