Surface pro 7 boot menu won’t work and won’t boot pass the start up logo

I was gifted a Surface pro 7 which worked well at first but now it won’t boot pass the start up logo, I tried all the options on YouTube and this forum, using the power button and up key, down key but all proved abortive, i downloaded the recovery into a usb drive from my windows 10 hp laptop but can’t access the boot options on my Surface pro, it stays on the logo and never goes away.

If you cannot boot to the UEFI (remove all USB devices, docks, MicroSD cards) using the process below, then you need to contact support.

  1. Shut down your Surface.

  2. Press and hold the volume-up button on your Surface and at the same time, press and release the power button.

  3. When you see the Surface logo, release the volume-up button.
The UEFI menu will display within a few seconds.

You will need to register the device in your name and will need the serial number

You can use a phone to contact support https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051701/global-customer-service-phone-numbers - ask for Surface support. Use the phone numbers listed under *For Business Users* for your location (these also work for consumers/home users).
