Surface Pro 6 keeps losing internet connection

This has been going on for a while. Generally, it has to connect to the wifi and then it works for a while, for streaming videos and such, but then when actively browsing, the connection gets lost.
What we already tried was to update the drivers for the network controller, or roll back an update, reinstall the drivers. All of that.
As it is currently, in order for it to work, I have to go to the Network controller properties, select "update driver" and then it works for a while.
Under the events it lists:

Device not migrated

Device configured

Device installed

Device started

Also, there was the suspicion that it is due to the power saving settings in the device, however, there is no power management tab to be found here.

Would a complete system restore maybe solve the issue?
Are there any other simple miracle cures that we might have overlooked?
Many thanks in advance.

Hello SeanBirch1,

We're sorry to learn that your Surface has a network connection issue.

Please give these troubleshooting steps a try to isolate the issue.

1. Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows UpdateRestart the Surface after installing updates. Updates have fixes to common problems, or issues.

2. Update drivers and firmware

Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by typing winver on the search bar near the Windows logo.

Go to Download driver and firmware for Surfacechoose (your Surface model) then click Download.
Choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.
After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.

3. Run System File Checker in Windows 10.

4. See Fix Wi-Fi connection issues in Windows for more troubleshooting guide.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

StevenK

been fighting with SURFACE pro 6 for over a year now...Have to rebuild TCP stack then Wifi will work as it should for a few weeks then back to same issue where it shows connected but it's NOT...Can go under wifi and "disconnect" then reconnect and it may work for hours or 10 minutes..then have to do it again...I loaded generic drivers for the NIC...and it worked good..but next update windows installed the MARVEL drivers again and back to the same issues...

SO tired of all the generic answers here...turn power off, and on make sure wifi modem is on blah blah blah....

Unless you have a bit more than level 1 HELP DESK knowledge don't reply....
