Surface pro 4 keyboard back-light.

Will not darken, can anyone help, please.

Hi, miloewer!

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community and posting your concern about the Surface Pro 4's Type Cover. We understand you wish to lessen the brightness level of the keyboard backlit. We're here to help you get this sorted.

First, make sure that the Fn key is not illuminated.

Once confirmed that the Fn key is not lit up, please press the F1 key on your keyboard that looks like the image below.
Pressing F1 will lower the brightness level of your keyboard backlit.

We hope this helps you out! Let us know how it goes.

Kind regards,

Thank you, but for some reason the  F1 key did seem to be working.  After trying your suggestion, it now seems to be working.  Thank you.  Mickl
