Surface Pro 4 - DVD Drive

Hi, I've heard there could be issues connecting an external DVD drive to a Surface Pro 4 (due to power supply through the USB port). Does anyone know if this is true? If so, what things should I watch out for? (e.g. do I need a DVD drive with a power cable, or to get one with a power consumption below a certain limit?)

Thanks!

I found a portable dvd  player/burner that works with my SP4 and doesn't require a power cable. It connects via the USB port on your Surface. You can find this on Amazon:

LG Electronics 8X USB 2.0 Super Multi Ultra Slim Portable DVD Rewriter model GP60NS50. This is the silver one that I have. There is a black one too and I assume it will work but I can only vouch for the silver.

The model Barb Bowman recommends appears to also work with the Surface. It looks like it's a later model than what I have (and also more expensive).
