How to use a USB device on Surface Laptop Studio

I just purchased a Surface Laptop Studio and realized that there is no USB port on the laptop. I did see that there is a USB port on the "power brick" of the laptop charger. I tried connecting a mouse via usb using the port on the charger and that did not work. I also tried plugging in a USB thumb drive storage device to the USB port on the charger and it won't open that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The USB port on the power brick is to power other USB devices like charging a cellular phone or other devices. It cannot be used for data devices or devices like mice/keyboard adapters.

The laptop is listed as having two USB-C ports and to use regular USB devices, you will need a USB-C Hub adapter a little like the one on the link below.

Laura,

I moved your post from Studio 2 to Surface Laptop Studio as you mention you have a Surface LAPTOP Studio.

The Surface Laptop Studio has two (2) USB-C ports on the left side of the device in the keyboard section.

If your needs are simple and you don't need all the ports on a USB-C hub, you can get an adapter for USB-A to USB-C like this one (which I the one I use) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XYTHCXV
