Drag & drop with Surface touch screen

I have a Surface tablet running Win 10, and I noticed that long-pressing on a file via the touch screen and then dropping the file on a different folder/window emulates the right click of the mouse, therefore triggering a menu that asks for confirmation (for either move or copy, etc.). Is there a way to have it emulate the left click instead, thus skipping the confirmation menu? Or otherwise disable the menu altogether?

Answer

Hi GianlucaAicardi,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Please try to disable the Press and hold as right-click option by following these steps:

Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Pen and Touch

Go to the Touch tab

Double-click or double tap Press and hold

On the pop-up screen, uncheck the box for Enable press and hold for right-clicking

Press OK

Hope this helps.
