Bulging battery in surface book, how to handle replacement

Hi

I have a surface book with performance base and the battery is starting to bulge.

From what I can tell, it is the battery in the base that's giving up.

I hope that since this is a security hazard it will be replaced free of charge?

What is the best way to go about this?

I registered my product.  I know I am out of the normal warranty.  I don't know if I am out of the 3 year replacement warranty for this issue.  How can I find that out?

what does the warranty show as a start date online when you check devices in
your account online?

and what is microsoft doing for those outside of 3 years? my battery bulge has already caused the screen to crack.

I live in switzerland but the international service numbers are only in german, french and italian.

Help.

They state they are replacing only within 3 years of purchase. I'm an unpaid
volunteer and do not work for Microsoft and if I had the power to change this
