Skype update for Windows XP

I currently use XP Professional and my current Skype is version 7.25. Will this version still work after Sept 4?

regards

Mikey

[Original Title: Skype update]

Support for Windows XP is already ended and there won't be any new version of Skype for Windows XP. Your Skype program might continue to work but you should expect discontinuing this program and you won't get any official support.

It is better to upgrade to supported version of Windows, take a look at:

The latest version of Skype for Win XP is 7.36.0.150.

Many users are currently having issues login into Skype from XP,  but there are workarounds to solve this if you search these forums.

Wrong , offical support for XP might have ended, but not for Skype !

As well you can still get support for XP via POSReady2009 till 2019 by making a few registry tweaks making MS think your copy of XP is POSReady2009 which is actually the light version of XP for point of sales applications such as cash registers used in retail outlets.

Hello Mikey1940,

Welcome to Skype Community forum.

It might be possible if you are not using the latest version for the Skype for Windows XP and the last updated version for Windows XP is the Skype version 7.36. Let me also set your expectation that Skype for Windows XP is still supported, here is the link click here for more reference.

Hope this information helps.
