Contacts showing as offline

I just reinstalled skype and it's showing no one online or active. I can send messages but I can't see anyone is active or not. Or that they received my messages... 

I didn't have this problem before. Reinstalled skype twice now.

The new outline is inconvenient and non-functional. I can't see anyone online or who is active. I cant see if my messages have been delivered. It is seriously a step backwards...

I scrolled up and down a bunch on the search function - saw 2 people active. only 1 show as active on screen... This is so annoying. Will you solve these issues or is this the new "standard"?

Kindly uninstall and reinstall Skype again. This time, make sure to restart your device before reinstalling. And if the issue persists, try using a different internet connection.

     Thanks for the info!  I reinstalled SKYPE and it now

works as it did before the newer version changed things.

I have recovered my contact list including the parts the

newer SKYPE deleted.

I did this. Uninstalled everything -> restart -> DL skype again and install.

Results: skype went from showing 0 people as active to a whole 5. Still not showing my family members as active, although they are right here...

I think this will continue until a new version or a patch comes out. 

A tip to see all your contacts: press on contacts (between the bell and the phone ) and scroll down through all of them. Then they will appear on the dashboard. Otherwise Skype will not show all the contacts.

Problem is still unresolved, waiting for an update.

Yes, you can see the list of your contacts by clicking the contact icon beside the phone icon.

To isolate the case, can you try signing in to Skype for web and observe if the same behavior occurs?
