Hi gerrycrawford,

Did you receive the message from the Skype app itself or via email address?

Please provide the version of your Skype app and the operating system of your device. You may open this link on how to check the version of your Skype application.

I look forward to your reply.

If you are now running the latest 12.1813.286.0 version of Microsoft Skype for Windows 10 (Skype UWP) application, then you can just ignore this email.

This email refers only to older 11.X versions of Skype UWP, which you might still have installed on another computer or a Windows Phone device.

Neither the latest 12.X Skype  UWP applications, nor the classic Skype 7.X versions will be affected by the retirement date of May 25.

Thank you , I did relay this info to Kenneth other moderator and he said to upgrade

to the latest version so I did , found out it was unnecessary as I already had latest version !

you told me this which was correct , I don't know why Kenneth gave me run around when I had gave him the same info as I gave you !

Thank you Ruwim

I checked my Skype version (V7.40.0.104) does that mean i will not be effected by this update because i received a message saying that i am using a older version of Skype which is going to be retired

The 7.40.0.104 version should not be affected by the May 25 deadline. However, since this is not the latest classic Skype version, it would be best to update to the latest 7.41.0.101 version.

The latest 7.41.0.101 version of the classic Skype for Windows Desktop can be installed using this installer link:
