command line options for skypeforlinux

Hi,

Could you please tell me how to place a call from the command line with skypeforlinux in ubuntu 16.04?

Anything I try, like:

   /usr/bin/skypeforlinux --callto:1*************

or

   /usr/bin/skypeforlinux --help

or

  /usr/bin/skypeforlinux -- version

brings the skype app to the top and returns immediately.  No action is executed and there is no output in the bash window.

I've tried many of the suggestions in the forum and nothing works.  I just installed the latest version of skype today so I'm guessing that there is a new command line interface but no documentation.

What I'm looking for is a shell script that accepts a phone number on the command line and places a call.

Thanks much,

Jonathan Hull

Hi,

I regret to inform you that it is not available on the new Skype app. The new Skype app doesn’t have any shell script.

Please do not hesitate to reply to this thread if you need further help.

This is not accurate since --shutdown works... It would be expected that --help prints at least something.
