skype version 8.37.0.98 also skype version 7.41.0.101

I have both versions on my pc, "windows 7", I would like to delete version 7.41.0.101 but I do not have the skill or knowledge to do so, could ou please help.

I'm Dan, an independent advisor, here to help the community with issues that may be experiencing.

To delete Skype v7 please do the following:-
1. Select your Windows Start Button at the bottom left of the screen.
2. Select 'Control Panel'
3. A window will pop-up. Please select the option that says 'Uninstall a program'.
4. A window with all of your programs will appear, you can find Skype v7, right click and select 'Uninstall'

Hi Dan, thanks for the prompt reply, but I have tried that, and the only version that shows is version 8.37.0.98.  I can not understand how it does not show the 2 versions but it only shows one. any other help would be welcome

If it is not there, then it shouldn't be installed on your computer. Why are you so sure it is still installed on your computer?

Hi Dan, I know its still installed because each time I turn on my PC I get 2 skype icons on my task bar, when I click on to the about skype it comes up with the version loaded ie 8.37 on one icon and 7.41 on the other icon, would deleting the only one shown in my pc programs using the uninstall section, the re installing the latest skype would that solve the problem of  the old version of skype

Right click on the 7.41. icon and select Properties -> Shortcut.

Hi Ruwim B. when I right click on the  7.41 icon  I am only given 3 choices, skype, tools and help I do not get a properties choice, I know there should be a skype 7.41.0.101 in  my installed items but there is not. each time I click on the  7.41 icon it direct's me to upgrade, which I do, but it makes no difference I still end up with 2 icons on start up, one for 7.41 and one for 8.37, I can skype on both of them, but it anoying me that I can not find away of uninstalling 7.41. I was thinking of uninstalling skype, and re-installing it, would that make and difference. what do you think.

It depends what version of Skype you have in your 'uninstall programs'. It should say the version number next to the Skype. You could try to uninstall all instances of Skype that you see and then reinstall the latest version, yes. The latest version can be found here:-
