Skype Preview // Meet the new actions now available in calls!

Available on Desktop app for Windows and the Store app in the Microsoft Store

Versions: 8.42.76.55 and 14.42.54.0

In this week's Insider build, we're making it easier for you to control your calls! While you may have already noticed that you can mute people in a group call, we've brought that to your one-to-one calls as well. We've also added a handy "View profile" option, making it easier for you to get to know who's on the call (and message them privately)!

Is the ability to snap a camera feed and shared screen 50/50 gone? Being able to see the person I'm instructing during a call while seeing their screen is kind of important. No, the small caller bubble isn't enough. I'm hoping this is a bug.

Same Here.  When I try to go to skype.com in Windows (chrome or Edge) there is no Graphics on website

Ever since I updated to version 8.42.76.55, my Skype status and my contacts' have become unstable and will change randomly. I will be chatting with a contact and they will lose their online/active status *while replying to me* so obviously they're still active! I'm also randomly set as not signed in in the system tray, but my avatar shows the green active circle. Messages often take a long time to be sent and received and I see "Connecting..." at the top of my chat windows for a long time. It's already difficult considering we get no notifications when contacts become active/available, but now I don't even know if they're there by looking at the contact list!

I'm currently using Skype for Desktop on a Windows 7 computer, but the behavior is the same at my home computer running on Windows 8.1.

Yes, unfortunately, that was a bug that we introduced while working on the new grid and speaker view. Sorry about that! We are addressing it now and hope to have a fix for you as soon as possible. As a work around you can use the regular (non-Skype Insider) version of Skype until we get this fixed.

Seems every time I log into Skype, it's been degraded in a newly creative way.

This time, the log-in box became so small I need to change my glasses in order to type in my handle.

Does Microsoft do any beta testing before foisting its "good ideas" on an unsuspecting, subscribing (for serious bucks) customer base?  I have yet to see evidence of this since Microsoft first bought Skype.
