Skype Insider Release Notes for Skype 8.82.76.403

Hi Everyone,

The latest Insider build 8.82 was fully released and this is what we were working on.

 

What’s new?


Ukraine centric efforts:

Make free phone calls to Ukraine: on all platforms. Stay connected by calling from/to Ukraine for free. To help further, we support Ukraine through the non-profit organizations listed on the Skype Home Page, and you can as well.

Support for more languages in Translated Conversations: on all platforms. Translate your Skype and phone calls from/to the Ukrainian language.

"Support Ukraine" emoticons: on all platforms. (ukraineheart) (ukrainehandshake) (ukrainepray)

Google Play In-App Billing System: on Android. To purchase Credit, Subscriptions and Skype Numbers.

Bug fixes and stability improvements



As usual, all new features are rolling out gradually over the next couple of days so if you don’t see them right away, just check again soon.  

Please let us know what you think about the latest changes, either here in the community or through the Skype app. You can always go to the Skype’s User Feedback channel to submit and vote for new features and ideas.

Hello!

I'm from Ukraine and installed Skype 8.82.76.403 - how can I make free calls abroad?

I'm trying, but Skype doesn't let me and wants me to put funds on my account to make calls.

I suggest to use ITPhone, 35 UAH/50 mins/month VoIP calls (around a EUR).

I installed the latest version of this Skype app and try to call mobile number in Ukraine, but seems to be no luck for me. Could someone tell me, please, what I am possibly doing wrong? Do I have to get some kind of subscription, because just this post didn't mention it? Thank a lot. 🇺🇦💙💛

I have been using Skype to call a mobile phone in Ukraine for about a month, but this morning the call is immediately dropped and a message asking for payment pops up on the screen. I tried everything, downloaded the new insider version of the app, tried to call from Edge browser, got the same result every time. No connection at all. Is there any way to fix this? I desperately need this service to contact my family in Ukraine.

Skype offered free phone calls to Ukraine for approximately the past 4 months (~Mar to July). Unfortunately that offer has expired. You can still place Skype to Skype calls for free but placing calls to Ukraine would now require Skype credit.

has this feature been recently vaiwed sinced I can't call anymore to Cherson, Ukraine to my parents out of charge?

As last stated back in July, you can still place Skype to Skype calls for free but placing calls to Ukraine would now require Skype credit. The alternative to this is to purchase a subscription that covers calls to Ukraine.

but the war hasn't expired yet, very dissapointing microsoft decision to stop helping Ukrainian people (
