Skype for business recording a meeting issue

In a meeting with one other person, while recording in the meeting I am able to see both of us on my screen. When I play back my recorded meeting, I can only see the other participant and not me. How do I record both participants?

The audio is fine--I can hear both of us.

These are the instructions we received from the professor.
"Remember, that when you do your video recording, it is required that both the client and the lawyer are visible on screen. Your instructor needs to be able to see the exchanges between client and lawyer. It may be that your instructor sees one person as that person is talking and then when the other person begins to talk, their face appears on the screen—this is perfectly fine. Bottom line, your instructor needs to hear and see both of you in the video."

Conversely, when my partner recorded the meeting from his computer, the recording showed me and not him. When I did the recording, it showed him and not me.

Help.

Susana

Hi Susana,

When recording a Skype for Business meeting, we can see the entire screen of ourselves including both the recorder and the meeting presenter as the screenshot below:

When we play back the recording video, only the presenter’s screen will show up as the screenshot below:

If your scenario is not like above, I would like to collect the following information for further analyzing and reproducing this scenario on our side:
1. When recording in the meeting, do you and the other attendee share your desktops or programs with each other?
2. Provide some screenshots about the Skype for Business meeting screen both in the meeting and after the meeting.
3. The detailed Skype for Business client version. You can find this by clicking Options menu->Help->About Skype for Business as the screenshot below. Also please let us know whether you are using the Skype for Business Basic client.

Regards,
Yang

Good morning Yang,

In answer to your questions above:

1. No, we do not share our desktops. We are supposed to be recording the two of us interviewing each other. So when I speak the video should record me on the screen and when he speaks, he should appear on the screen.

2. This is a screenshot of the recording. During the meeting the screen looks like your first screenshot above minus the shared desktop. It is a blue screen with both of us on the screen as we speak to each other. In other words I can see him and he can see me.

3.

Thank you

Susana

Has this been resolved? We are having the same issue and we would like to record all the video streams and replay them at a later date.

Hi Jeffrey,

As different environment and Skype for Business client could have different root cause, I would like to confirm the following information firstly:
1. The detailed Skype for Business client version on both the presenter and recorder side. You can check this by clicking the options menu->Help->About Skype for Business.
2. Did this issue exist in multiple users or just one user?
3. Please also give some screenshots about the scenario on your side when recording video call and replaying video call.

Regards,
Yang

When we record a meeting we are having issues viewing the recording. We have to conference rooms setup for video and we usually have a few people call in or Skype in. In the conference rooms we use the conference phones that are in the center of the tables. So we dial in to the Skype ,meeting using the phone number but connect video using the conference camera. We get better audio this way. When we record the meetings the audio is great. But since we are getting audio from the phone the recording does not switch camera views based on who is talking. Is there a way during the recording to record the video from all the attendees and during the play back have all the attendees videos be shown. It would be great to see facial expressions. The screen shot is a Skype meeting with 2 videos. That is the basic view we want during play back.

Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for your detailed reply.
The scenario you described is different from Susana. As you are in a Skype for Business conference in a room, and the speakers are joining to the meeting via phone, it is not feasible to record each attendees' in the video as your requirement.

Yang
