Skype and skype for business

Can both versions of Skype be installed on the same PC(windows 7)? I have an older relative who just has his PC updated. They installed Skype for business as part of the office 365 package I think. Now he can't talk to anyone on regular Skype. I tried to get him to download the regular Skype but it would not download. Page not found or something. I can't get him to remove Skype for business without removing office. That won't work as he has no way to re-install it. He needs Word.

We did turn off Skype business from auto starting.

It's not my PC. It belongs to a 93 year old relative who lives  2000 miles away. I have to work him using skype on his tablet.

I need to confirm that both versions can exist on the same PC. It has been suggested that skype for business will block regular skype from installing.

Thanks I have discovered my relative is not an administrator on the PC. I think that might the issue with the skype download. I am attempting to get in touch with the person who built his PC to get the admin login info.

The person with the administrator password was able to install regular skype. All is well.
