I used my Android phone to make a call to a landline/mobile number in the U.S. I have a monthly subscription with Skype. I have always my phone to make call not my computer. I have never got ask for this "remote access code".

If you’re using Skype-To-Go feature, you can dial and make calls to mobiles/landlines using your mobile phone without using the Skype app. All you need to do is to dial the access that was given to you on the Skype Website.

You mentioned that you’ve never tried entering a “remote access code” which I believe you’re referring to the Skype-To-Go’s Access number. I therefore concluded that you’re probably typing/dialing a number on your mobile phone’s dialpad not on the Skype app.

Hence, I strongly advise you to sign in to Skype app first and dial the number that you’re trying to reach and let me know of the results.
