After installing Microsoft Teams on my ipad and iphone, I was able to migrate my Skype contacts into Teams. All the online instructions for opening the dial pad don't work. 1. There is no "Call tab" to click on. 2. There is no menu on the left hand side of the Teams screen showing a phone icon to click on. 3. There is no option in settings of Team to open dial pad. Once I find out how to pull up the dial pad, I want to know if if Microsoft is going to keep my $40 of credit or let me migrate that money over to Teams. Thanks in advance for your help. The email showing is not my current email. But MS won{t let me use my current, vald emasil. Hopefully the Community Forum knows my current, correct email.

Hello,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Regarding your enquiries about being unable to find the dial pad and what happens to your Skype credit balance, after May 2025, the Skype Dial Pad will be available to remaining paid users from the Skype web portal and within Teams Free, where you will continue to be able to use your subscription or Skype Credits. All you need to do to migrate your Skype account to Teams is to sign in to Microsoft Teams Free on any supported device using your Skype credentials and your contacts and chats will automatically be transferred. You will also receive a notification in the Skype app prompting you to take action to migrate your data.

I had the same question, however, I am not a Skype "paid" user, but I have credit on my Skype account which I used to make calls to phones as opposed to other Skype members. I migrated to Microsoft Teams but my Skype credit balance has not moved and I do not have the ability to make calls on Teams Free whereas I could have done on Skype. So will Microsoft be refunding people like me who have credit on free Skype?
I would also appreciate being able to see the history of those phone calls I made in Skype but because I am not a paid member, Teams appears to be ignoring that. Can you please confirm we will be losing that history?
Thanks.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is the same as mine. I think the easiest thing-and most ethical-would be for Microsoft to give us a credit in our Microsoft account or just give us a refund via cheque or credit card. Otherwise they will be taking our money for themselves, which has a term for that action. Or, why not let us use our credits to make phone calls anywhere in the world using Team? I can understand why many view this as nothing but a money grab!!

Skype "paid" users are users that have purchased Skype credit or a subscription. If you are signed into Teams using you Skype credentials your history should follow you into your personal Teams free account. You just need to be signed into the correct account. You may want to sign into Teams for Web to see if anything is different.
You have the following outlets to consume your Skype credit for phone services.
1. Within Skype up to May 5, 2025.
2. Within the Skype dial pad located in Teams after May 5, 2025.
3. Within the Skype dial pad located in the Skype Web portal after May 5, 2025.
You can only use the Skype dial pad after it appears. Some guidance simply states May while others specify May 5th. So one should assume no later than May 6.

Thanks for the reply. I checked my account on Teams for Web and there is no option to select a dial pad there either, only chat for other Teams members, and it is saying "Microsoft account balance: 0.00 USD" while my Skype Account under the section called Skype to Phone says "Your Skype Credit $5.27". It's not a large balance but I would expect to be able to use it or have it returned. Please advise how we will be able to access these credit balances left from Skype to Phone which was a free service in Skype that doesn't seem to have transferred over to Teams successfully. Thank you.

Microsoft account balance and Skype credit balance are two separate things. As in my previous reply, the Skype dial pad is not present in Teams as it is not yet May, and Skype has not yet retired. The Skype dial pad area should relay your Skype credit balance when it is introduced.

Can I use my Skype credit?
Skype Credits can be used for calling. Starting April 3, 2025, automatic top up services will no longer be available. After May 2025, the Skype Dial Pad will be available to remaining paid users from the Skype web portal and within Teams Free, where you will continue to be able to use your subscription or Skype Credits.
YOU NEED TO WAIT UNTIL MAY 5 FOR YOUR CREDIT BEING AVAILABLE FOR CALLS IN TEAMS:

Thank you for your answer, which is a LOT more specific and a LOT less cryptic than Microsoft's mumbo jumbo, making many of us scratch our heads and say to ourselves "huh?".
