How can I receive Skype calls to my gmail address?

I have an o365 account for personal home use (friends and family) and a gmail account for business and educational use. I want to know if I can receive Skype calls from other people that they make by calling my gmail address.

* Can I do that?

* How does it work?

* Do I need to configure something in my live account settings?

Please post a detailed step-by-step answer.

Thanks,

Janet

Note: There isn't an appropriate Skype Sub-topic that matches my question.

Skype to Skype calls can only be made from one Skype/Microsoft account to another. Google has its own system that works between Google accounts. Neither system is compatible with one other. The only time they could be made compatible is if a compatible medium is used. An example of this is making a Skype to phone call and the Google account receiving inbound phone calls. Another possibility would be a third party paid service that acts like a middle man to bridge the two incompatible mediums across their communication network.
