high cpu usage in Skype for Linux (also after a call) (version: 8.53.0.85)

Based on your description, it appears that you are using a Linux device that has a distribution of Mint 19.2. I'd like to give a head's up that Mint is not yet fully compatible with Skype. This is the possible reason why you are experiencing such issues.

Maybe I've solved this problem by clearing the Cache folder

rm -rf ~/.config/skypeforlinux/Cache/*

and restarted skype. No fully loaded cpu so far within and after 2 calls.

Is it possible to have both version installed or do I have to uninstall the "standard" version before?

Thank you for your reply and I apologize for the delay of my response.

Installing the Skype Preview would only replace the files and folders used in the Skype for Desktop version. This means that both versions cannot be launched or installed at the same time. I advise you to remove the "standard version" first then try installing the preview version. Let me know if the same issue would persist.
