Disable BING in my Skype App

Hi, what is up with Skype trying to add BING to my Skype App on my phone, every time i log in now, BING is there as a Contact, and i have to delete it every single time, but it returns the next time i log in.

Please tell me that we can get rid of this horrible PEST, i don't like it, and i don't want it in my App.

Cheers

Hi Greg,

You could try doing a long-press > Delete. If it didn't work, you may try blocking it from the profile view as what other users have done.

I hope this helps.

Ok i will try that, but WHY does Skype have to do this to its users, little wonder there is so much issues these days with these types of Apps.

Hello, Greg,

The integration of the new Bing into Skype chat is designed to provide us with a comprehensive and creative source of information, inspiration and answers to our questions, all through a simple chat interface. It is also great to chat with friends and family because it can provide useful information, fun quizzes, suggestions.

Please take a look at the following Skype article for more information about the integration.

Thank you for your patience.

It may suit some, but not me, i hate Bing, and i hate any application that tries to force that kind of junk into their Apps, so rather than Force it on users, why not have them "ASK" the users IF they want Bing instead.

I blocked Bing to see if that worked.

I hear you. I suggest giving feedback directly to Skype through the following steps:

1. Click on your profile picture > Settings
2. Select Help & Feedback > Give feedback.
3. Let them know what you'd like to tell > Send.

Sorry, the link is missing from my previous response. Here it is:

This is totally an abuse. Creates a lot of anxiety because it resembles virus.

I blocked it and reported it for SPAM, since it bugged me every single day.

This is an unhelpful answer. You are suggesting that we should just ‘grin and bare’ it, ‘take it on tour shin’, ‘let’s give it a go’, &tc.,

Well, all of us who have been complaining about this unwanted, unsolicited intrusion that cannot even simply be deleted once and for all, do not agree with you.

My patience has, for one, worn very, very thin indeed!

OK. OK. But I don't understand the connection between Skype and Bing other than both owned by Microsoft; they are completely different functions. I use Skype to make calls. I use a chat bot to do work, solve problems, do search, etc. Really weird.
