how can i update my email address for the skype account im using? im no longer using the skype email i registered with.

You need to follow below process to remove and add a new mail ID
Login to your account @ https://secure.skype.com/account/
Scroll down and click Edit Profile
Click Edit Profile on next page to enable Editing
Under Contact Details. change your mail ID

Scroll down and click Edit Profile
Click Edit Profile on next page to enable Editing

To set a profile email address as your primary email address:
Sign in to your account.

Click your profile picture, or select Edit Profile in the Account details section at the bottom of the page.
Scroll down to the Contact details section and click the Edit button on the right.
Select Set as primary email next to the address you want to set as your primary email, and click the green Save button at the bottom of the page.
Enter your password to confirm the change of your primary email address.
