BT call protect blocks VOIP calls from Skype - how can I overcome this?

I need to call a UK number that has BT Call Protect enabled.  Skype calls are VOIP and these are automatically blocked by Call Protect.

So will a Skype number solve this issue or is the call still seen as VOIP generated and therefore be blocked?

To answer your question, your call will still be detected as VOIP, even with a Skype number, since Skype numbers are only used for receiving calls, unless you set that as your caller ID. I would just suggest setting up a mobile number as a caller ID and see if it would work.
