Bombarded with spam from Shane Davis

Shane Davis keeps popping up on my notifications regarding Bitcoin.(spam). No visible messages or chats in skype. Only the notifications. Search for Shane Davis shows many profiles with a Skype address "live:.cid....:"

This person needs to be booted from Skype!

I can't go through the list and block 100s of accounts!

Shane Davis is equivalent to John Smith. Just because an account has that name does not mean the account is related to spam or bitcoin. I performed a search of Shane Davis on my phone and came up with a list of 100 accounts. Out of those accounts 16 had a similar bitcoin graphic. You are free to block and report the unique accounts that send your spam or invite you to groups but no account will be blocked simply by having that name.

Why would all the accounts have "live:.cid.****" as the account name?

I am unsure if you are referencing the same account. All new and unique accounts for the past 8 years have a live:.cid prefixed name. If the problem still occurs, I suggest you uninstall the current version of Skype and install the latest Insider version.

Skype Insider | Install a Preview version of Skype

If it continues, submit feedback/logs in the insider release so that the problem can be addressed. I have already reported several users having a similar issue and the logs submitted from an insider release will help narrow down the problem.

Yes, for me, probably others as well, this starts out with me being dropped into a Skype room with 600 other names. Most saw the writing on the wall so now its 530 users. When looking at the drop list of names, some of them dont even make sense so it literally looks like someone name-scraped and just vomited the list into a Skype chat.

SCAM yep. I was a victim once which is something on me. I admit it, owned up to the stupidity, and simply live to warn others. I believe these are the same people I was victim too but here, read my story and you will see the similarity. Tokentrace says it best, pig butchering.

I have left messages in the room about scams but the freaky thing is no one pays attention. Like telling the host they are full of sh*t and everyone who is real or has a brain needs to just leave the room and block. Its like Im not even there.

The chat room usually lasts for like two or so weeks and then a notification will appear stating they want to consolidate active users and then for anyone who wants to continue to contact the assistant.

Here are screenshots from the current chat room in Skype. Notice none of the images that these people post even show in the chat room. They usually contain images of returns people claim to have gotten post trading.
