Blue screen window when making video calls

Hi. I am having the same problem and have uninstalled and reinstalled the newest update and I'm still unable to make video calls. When started the call go to the blue screen window and then goes back to the contact info of the recipient. Any advice ? Thank you.

Hi, Joseph !  I am using Windows 7 home premium, with a built-in camera on a 2011 hp pavilion d6. By the way... I cannot open windows media player nor the system properties without it crashes. Any advice will be most appreciated. Thanks.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool.

 

Go to Windows Start  and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file.

 

Since there is no Attachment option yet available on this Forum, you may post the saved file to a File Sharing site (e.g. OneDrive) and provide here a link to this site.

There is an issue with Direct3D on your computer.

 

DxDiag Previously: Crashed in Direct3D (stage 2). Re-running DxDiag with "dontskip" command line parameter or choosing not to bypass information gathering when prompted might result in DxDiag successfully obtaining this information

 

This issue is most likely caused by corrupted installation of the AMD Radeon HD 6520G graphics display driver.

 

You should try to re-install this driver:

Alternative, you can install the latest Catalyst Software Suite for Windows 7 64.bit available from the AMD site:

Hi, Ruwim. Yes. I did notice the error window referring to the direct3D and to bypass it so I could run the dxdiag. exe test run. I have installed the new graphics drives and I can open now the system properties and the Skype does not goes to the blue screen window. However the media player still not able to run mp4 files (only sound) and the laptop no longer acknowledge the hdmi audio on my smart TV. Any advice ? Cheers

Hi, Ruwim. Ran the dxDiag diagnostic again, still the direct3D error message appears, and ran the troubleshoot for the hdmi audio issue, now working, and going to test Skype video call now. Below is the link for the new dxDiag diagnostic. Cheers

The AMD Radeon HD 6520G display adapter driver is still not updated.

 

Open Windows Device Manager.

 

Expand Display adapters and uninstall the currently installed driver.

 

 

 

Install now the driver provided from the HP site.

Hi, Ruwim. Thanks for your reply. An message error for the sp55092.exe for the AMD software suite drivers appear when it was been installed stating package failure and stop all process. Any advice ?
