Blank screen when login

Hi I am challenged with a blank screen  for login on the ASUS Android tablet.

I got the most recent upgraded version.  I tried to re=install and reboot. No luck.

Any suggestions if I need to remove some settings?

Can you please try to clear cache and data of your tablet? Once done, try to check the Skype app if you will get the same behavior.

Also, kindly provide the Android version of your device and the version of your Skype app. Thanks!

hi ken

i did what you suggested. cleared the cache and data of the skype. same issue persists:

Version: 8.15.0.417

android: 4.2.2

You just see the microsoft logo on login and rest of the rendering in the login window frame is whitened.

Looks like a rendering problem with the build. prior version was working fine.

hi i have attached the screen shot

you can see the black screen.

I have uninstalled and gone as far as resetting the tablet but no luck.

\What is very interesting is as follows:

If i tap around the middle where the user id is; you can see the cursor gets highlighted and keyboard pops up; the Next botton is also there;

But there is no rendering = more a UI issue.

I also have the same problem on an htc one x running android 4.2.2. A blank screen with a Microsoft logo at the top is shown and invisible fields as described by saj223. If I do try to put in my email and password into these fields skype still does not sign in. Thinking this was something to do with an older version of android I have also tested on a Samsung Galaxy S3 running 4.3 but it does not share the problem and correctly displays the login screen. A factory reset of the htc one x also did not fix the issue. As the login screen seems to be a web page loaded into the app it may have something to do with the default webview of some devices misinterpreting it.

This is exactly the problem.

You can tap on the field; it is there and when you type in the user id and go to next page for pwd; you tap on the blank field where the pwd it will it pop the keyboard and next wont take you in.

Definitely a UI/OS version 4.2.2 conflict somewhere

I hope they can resolve I should never have upgraded the skype.
