What to do with containertag.js from vap1sjc1.lijit.com?

I keep getting a box at the bottom of the screen that reads "What to do with containertag.js, From vap1sjc1.lijir.com - Save Save Cancel".  I am assuming that it is a bug.  How do I get rid of it?

I saw the message while on facebook this morning...I clicked on an article about alan Iverson not  being able to afford a hamburger and got the message...I promptly ran Malware Bytes...

I tried to get it to pop-up again in facebook (can/t find the Iverson article) and could not get it in Allrecipes...

This was not, exactly, an attempt to install malware.

containertag.js from vap1sjc1.lijit.com was JavaScript (possibly defective JavaScript) trying to serve up ads or track browsing so that advertisers know where their hits come from.

Google search result.

If you no longer see the message at allrecipes.com they might have fixed or removed the JavaScript.

If I only occasionally saw one of these js messages, I don't know that I would worry about it.

AdBlock for Edge

https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/extensions/

or Adblock Plus for IE will block this JavaScript, tracking cookies and other ad-related content. https://adblockplus.org/

this JS error  containertag.js from vap1sjc1.lijit.com  has disabled my AdBlock for Edge and I've uninstalled AdBlock and reinstalled.  AdBlock works for a while and then I get the js message again.

This JavaScript isn't disabling Adblock, but it's slipping past the block list somehow, perhaps by using slightly different URLs.

If you really want to block this script, you can block specific sites with your HOSTS file. I find this to be no trouble at all. Not everyone agrees.

If you go this route you don't enter the entire URL

(containertag.js from vap1sjc1.lijit.com) just enter

127.0.0.1 <space>lijit.com

If this JavaScript message appears on a frequently used site, placing the site in Restricted Sites (if default settings are still being used) will disable scripting and block the message.

Note: Blocking JavaScript in this way might break desirable features of the site.

Restricted Sites: Internet Options> Security> Restricted Sites.
