Very helpful article, infos & weblinks...thank you Stephen Boots!!

After Win 10 update, my Windows Defender was turned off.  Ran the tools for cleaning McAfee & Malwarebytes, then used my Iobit Uninstaller to remove Iobit Malware Fighter.

Upon reboot, all is well,  Thanks!

Thank you Stephen. Very comprehensive report. Resolved my issue.

Danke, aus Europa!

"ESET AV Removal Tool

The ESET AV Removal tool will remove almost any antivirus software previously installed on your system.

Consider including the direct link to the x64 version for the Eset AV Removal Tool, or removing the direct link to the 32-Bit, as your hidden hyperlink to the Eset instructions includes both 32-Bit and x64 versions.

Thank you for the update and notation.

FYI:  I think you were tricked by the MS Editor, the ESET entry is shown twice (near top and bottom).  As Eset tool can be very helpful (if it finds something, i download the MFG Removal Tool for what it finds), and may deserve the potential freudian slip or intentional highlight , consider adding the x64 entry to the links near the bottom, as that is the entry that speaks louder to me upon first view of your extensive and very helpful 'Article'.

Consider adding highlights also to your links to the McFee (sp.) and Norton tools, due to their preponderance of OEM/MFG Pre-Install trial software (that may reappear after a Win10 Reset), creating issues;  even for registered versions of their respective software.

Ah! totally my oversight! I went for the ESET NOD32 entry last night, edited that, and added a separate entry for the remover with links to the 32 and 64 bit direct downloads. I completely missed that I had previously added the ESET Remover to the bottom of the article.

Perhaps a call-out to the Norton and McAfee tools (and perhaps the ESET remover) would be best at the top of the article -- let me think on that. Thanks for the feedback!
